Friends

Something about snow stops people from working even when they've made it into work. I was just standing in the shop and me, another PhD student and the lady behind the til started talking about cereal. Eventually the other PhD student said that once when he had insomnia he decided to sort something out he really always wanted to know. He went downstairs and sorted an entire box of cheerios into 4 separate bowls for each of the different grains (apparently it's very hard to tell rice and oats apart) so he could decide which of the Os he liked best. Hilariously, he doesn't actually remember. However, they have bought out just Oat cheerios in the UK and he thinks maybe he wrote to them to inform them that oat cheerios are in fact the best.

He will now forever be called cheerio boy to me.

I was running down a lane earlier when I passed a car pulled up and I realised they were smoking pot. I mean, your getting stoned and your then going to drive, seriously? If you don't want to get caught doing it go for a walk!

I want to go on a little trip in March, literally a weekend away. I was originally thinking Gibraltor, but I'd have to go to London and the only hostel on the rock wasn't rec'ed for women traveling alone. So I am now trying to pick from two choices flying from East Midlands Airport down the road. These are Carcossone, in the south of France and Geneva in Swizerland. Both are french speaking so I should be able to get by! I think I'll need some help picking please!

After returning from Slovenia I went home to Suffolk for Christmas, internet connection there was difficult - mainly because the computer was in such an uncomfortable position to use! Anyway, here is a little report on my trip to Slovenia complete with links to photograhs or wikipedia articles.
